According to Google, "apps focused on personal growth are in high demand." The unprecedented challenges of the pandemic have clearly led many to introspection and self-discovery, and Balance winning Best App of 2021 is a fitting reflection of that.
Winners in other categories of the Google Play Best of 2021 list similarly focus on self-help and wellness. One of the winners of "Best for Personal Growth" is a hypnotherapy app for women called Clementine, and one of the "Best Hidden Gem" winners is an app called Laughscape that provides relaxation through comedy.
