Muksin told Mashablethat his Photoshop edits were made for fun, during his spare time.
"It's both therapeutic and nostalgic," he said, adding that the photos going viral had him "freaking out."
Muksin said he obsessed over Disney characters as a kid, but as he grew up, he started seeing them from a more "complex, adult point of view."
"Then ideas started popping in my head -- like Aurora (the Sleeping Beauty) is such a graceful and reserved character, but I bet she'd lose it a bit at Coachella," he added. "Or what if Maleficent, Lady Tremaine, and Evil Queen [bonded] over their failures to destroy the lives of young princesses, and decided to go to Fashion Week together?"
